The sun emits radiation: UV rays. Among these, in cosmetics, UVA, UVB and blue light are of concern because they reach the skin.
UVA rays, emitted by the sun, penetrate the deep layer of the skin: the dermis. When present in excessive quantities, the skin undergoes premature aging:wrinklesandtasksAs they appear, it loses elasticity.
UVB rays, on the other hand, are necessary to provide the skin with the energy it needs to produce vitamin D. However, by penetrating the epidermis too intensely, they can cause damage. How to choose your UV index?

Sunscreen helps protect the skin from sunburn, which can lead to premature aging and skin cancer. Applying sunscreen is essential, as is choosing the right sun protection factor (SPF). This index indicates the level of protection the filters offer against UVB rays.
When choosing a sunscreen, it's important to consider your skin type and the conditions of sun exposure. The fairer and more sensitive your skin is to the sun, the more you need to protect yourself and use a sunscreen with a high SPF. Similarly, the more intense the sunlight and the stronger the UV rays, the more it's recommended to protect your skin with a high SPF.
European regulations require a minimum UVA protection of 1/3 compared to the UVB index.

How to choose sun protection for your child?

Exposing young children or babies to direct sunlight is not recommended. Overexposure to the sun should also be avoided, even with sunscreen. Babies' and young children's skin is more fragile and sensitive. Applying a sunscreen with a very high SPF is recommended to protect them.
